Connecting a Bank account

GetGild reads balances from the accounts you connect and adds them up. It doesn’t move money or place trades — it just watches the numbers.

1. From the dashboard, select Accounts and then Add account.
2. Select the type of account Banking and connection option, Open Banking or Manual. Most UK current accounts are accessible via Open Banking. Some banks also offer connection of credit or savings accounts, but it’s not consistent across providers.
3. Search for your bank or provider name and add the account.
4. Log in through the secure connection screen. GetGild never sees or stores your bank password — that login happens on your bank’s own page.
5. Pick which accounts under that provider you want included (you can leave some out).

Balances usually sync within a few seconds. There’s a refresh button next to the account name if you want to refresh it manually.

If your provider isn’t listed

Contact support to request a provider. We add new ones regularly and prioritise by how often they’re requested.

If a connection breaks

Banks occasionally require you to re-authorise a connection, usually every 90 days by regulation. You’ll see a “Reconnect” prompt on that account’s card when this happens — it takes under a minute.
